Access Statement -- Foxes

Introduction

• we provide bed and breakfast in our home and have two en suite guest bedrooms 
• the following statement is a summary of that provision
• if you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help

Pre-arrival

• there is a bus stop 250 metres from the entrance and there is a frequent bus service from the centre of Poole (Poole bus station) which takes approximately 5-10 minutes
• Poole main station is five minutes away by taxi, (the bus station is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the  station)
• Parkstone station is a 10 minute walk
• we have a web site with photographs of each guest  bedroom

Arrival and car parking facilities

• there is un-marked, off-road parking on tarmac for up to three guest's cars
• parking is restricted on the road by double yellow lines however there is a nearby side road where overnight parking and weekend parking is allowed
• there is a gentle gradient from the road to the front door up a tarmac drive
• assistance with luggage is always offered to guests

Main entrance and reception

• there is a step (23cm) formed of crazy paving at the front door and a further step (13cm) from the porch to hall.  There are no hand holds at either step
• guests are sharing our home and are asked to give an approximate time of arrival when booking so that we can ensure someone is in, (preferred times are noted below) and are asked to advise should this time the subsequently changed
• guest registration is carried out in the drawing-room

Public areas -- General (internal)

• with the exception of the farmhouse kitchen, which has a solid tile floor, and the bathrooms and lavatory, which have laminated floor surfaces, all areas are carpeted
• the stairs have two quarter turns, one a half landing, and have a banister on one side
• guests may use our drawing room
• all doors are standard width (73cm)

Suite 1 --bathroom

• the bathroom and the separate lavatory are not suitable for wheelchairs, (toilet height 43cm, free  space to left and right 26cm).
• there is a standard bath (bath edge height 54cm) with a permanent power shower and shower screen (no hand hold) 
• There is a normal size hand basin supported by a pedestal (basin height 82cm)

Suite 2 -- bathroom

• the lavatory is not suitable for wheelchairs, (toilet height 43cm, free  space to left and right 26cm)there is a standard bath (bath edge height 54cm) with a permanent power shower and shower screen (no hand hold) 
• There is a normal size hand basin supported by a pedestal (basin height 82cm)

Breakfast room

• breakfast is served in our large farmhouse kitchen on the ground floor
• the table has an under space of 60 cm, and the chairs do  not have arms and can be positioned as required.
• we are able to provide a vegetarian breakfast
• we are non smoking throughout the premises but provide a wooden bench and an ashtray on the front terrace

Laundry

• some laundry services are provided for a small charge on request
• wet walking, sailing, or kite surfing gear, can be hung in   our garage

Bedrooms

• all bedrooms are on the first-floor and have Yale locks, televisions (with remotes), radios, and hot drink making facilities

Additional information

• Poole Park is 100 metres away and offers many facilities.
• we are situated close to Ashley Cross which has many restaurants and pubs and is only a 5 minute walk away
• free Wi-Fi connection to the internet
• no smoking is permitted with in Foxes
• we do not accept bookings for children
• we are unable to accept pets
